How to animate a shape in Adobe After Effects



1) Create a New Solid

2) Draw the shape you want on that solid

3) Open up the Solid settings and go to masks.

4) Keyframe Mask Paths

5) Drag playhead to next point

6) Click on masks, then drag the point on the shape where you want it at that point.

7) Repeat 5+6 until completion.

8) Be happy :)

Unit 2 Reflection On my first day of learning Unit 2, we were tasked with using Adobe Illustrator to draw a face, a hat and a burger. I found this a really interesting and engaging task. I found it a little bit tricky on this day as I had never used Adobe Illustrator before. The next lesson we were showed some animal clip arts. The task was really helpful as it allowed me to develop my illustrator skills and learn new ways to do things in the programme. 1. What was the task you were asked to complete? The task we were asked to complete was to use Adobe Illustrator to recreate cartoon animals.                                       2. How successful were you at completing this task? I believe I success full at completing this task because my finished products resembled that of the ones I was recreating from the original picture. 3. What skills did you have to use to complete this task? In this task I had to use a variety of skills in Adobe Illustrator. I had to use my line drawing skills to get the correct line lengths with the correct curves. I also used my newly developed skills with the direct select tool in order to deform the circle I drew to create the egg like structure of the main bodies. 4. Is there a relationship between height and actor success? What counts as success? I am counting Success as the amount of money taken in per film in the box office on average. My opinion I believe it can be plausible that there is a relationship between height and an actors success. This is because I believe someone with height believes in themselves more, and grows a bigger confidence - this allows them to seem better with the people.
